The UL-235A-498 is a broadband, +11 dBil High Gain Antenna, providing continuous communications coverage across the spectrum of 2.2 GHz to 2.5 GHz and beyond.
Its primary use is to enhance point-to-point Wi-Fi network signals in 802.11b and 802.11g modes (2.400-2.485 GHz), or those of licensed and unlicensed WiMax in the Americas (2.3 GHz, 2.5 GHz, 2.6 GHz, and 2.4 GHz). At most urban US locations, it may be used to enhance reception of Satellite Radio (SDARS) emissions between 2.320-2.345 GHz.
The broadband nature of this Directional Antenna allows concurrent operation on the above services, in addition to doubling up as a Directional Antenna in S-Band Telemetry and Video applications. For example, it can be used as a portable, high gain (+11 dBil), search S-Band Antenna, to enhance the downlink video feeds of remote control (RC) planes and UAVs (drones), boats, cars and robots; or to connect wireless security equipment, such as cameras. Other applications include SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition), Direction Finding and Surveillance. It can also be used to close short to medium range wireless links within the unlicensed 2.4 GHz spectrum, or to extend Wi-Fi+WiMax network coverage.
