    UHF LOS/Satcom 2-way 180° Combiner/Splitter/Stacker

Two-way RF Splitter/Combiner designed to add or subtract the energies of 2 UHF Line of Sight (LOS) or UHF Satcom antenna elements. The combination of two properly spaced and aligned elements comprising an antenna array can produce a passive gain up to +5 dBil/dBic.

The form factor of the SPLU-3002-700 is designed to accommodate 2 of our UL-3001-340SN, or similar antennas to produce a colinear array of +4 dBil to +5 dBil gain. Attach an antenna at each end, and the SPLU-3002-700 can be used to mount the radiating system, vertically or horizontally, to a mast up to 2" (50 mm) OD, or a wall. Alternatively, feed each end to two parallel UL-3001-340SN elements (an optimum spacer is available from us), to produce an unidirectional antenna, or a bidirectional antenna (often used for direction finding).

Antenna elements may also be 2 of our X-wings (UC-3004-381R or UC-3004-481R) and a reflector, or 2 of our MILSATCOM Quadrifilar Helix (QFH) Antennas, model UC-3004-531R (no reflector required). For on-foot tactical applications, an SPLU-3002-700 and a pair of our Tacsat antennas (UC-3004-481R) can be used to produce various mission supporting ad-hoc solutions.

This splitter/combiner is compatible with Line of Sight, MUOS and Legacy satellite payload applications. Its versatile mounting supports both, Horizontally and Vertically polarized applications as a Stacker (Colinear array mount). The Splitter also supports both circular polarization applications often used by satellite applications, or folliage penetration communications.

If the desired array is receive-only, the addition of our LNAU-0255-648 or LNAU-0370-648 will add another +20 dB of active gain at a low Noise Figure, to produce a total receive gain of +25 dBil/dBic. They also introduce filtering to protect and beneficially condition signals in Software Defined Receiving systems.

For information about element spacing dimensions, or combinations for a specific objective, please feel free to contact us. We are planning to add some examples on this page in the comming weeks to show the versatility allowed by simple combinations of our products and the SPLU-3002-700.

Two SPLU-3002-700 options are available: by default, ports are DC short circuit shunted to provide limited Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection. The alternative option is unprotected ports which will pass DC currents. The benefit of this latter alternative is that a DC current and low frequency signaling can be delivered to each element of the array, to power and/or control elemental circuitry.
